Legal Notice the City of South Fulton

Legal Notice The City of South Fulton is hosting a comment period for the FY 22 Annual Action Plan (AAP) as required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to access Community Development Block Grant Funding (CDBG) for the 2022 program year. Pursuant to § 24 CFR 570.4, the City of South Fulton is eligible for CDBG funding because the population of the City is more than 50,000 residents. To access this funding, the City is required to submit an AAP document to HUD. A previous 5-Year Consolidated Plan was submitted and accepted by HUD. This program year represents the 2nd program year in the 5-Year Consolidated Plan. To meet the guidelines for CDBG funding, the City is also required to provide residents a public comment period of 30-days. A draft of the 2022 AAP is available on the City's website at https://www.cityofsouthfultonga.gov/. Comments regarding the plan can be sent to Derek R. Hull, Community Development Director at derek.hull@cityofsouthfultonga.gov The comment period will start on July 16, 2022, and will run through August 16, 2022. The City Council will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, August 16th, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. at the City of South Fulton City Hall located at 5440 Fulton Industrial Blvd. SW, South Fulton, GA 30336. During the comment period, citizens and other interested parties will be invited to provided comments on the proposed plan for CDBG funding. AFFECTED COUNCIL DISTRICT(S): Citywide EXPLANATION OF NOTICE: To access CDBG funding from HUD, the Mayor or his designee on behalf of the City, will be authorized to submit to HUD an AAP for the 2nd Program Year 2022 for the CDBG Program in the estimated amount of Four Hundred Sixty-Six Thousand Four Hundred Eight Dollars ($466,408). The proposed funding recommendations are as follows: Funding Recommendations by Priority Funding Amount Blight Reduction and Neighborhood Revitalization (Code Enforcement) $125,000 Public Facilities, Facility Improvements, and Public Infrastructure (Public Works) $223,128 Fair Housing, Housing Counseling, and Legal Services (Fair Housing of ATL) $25,000 Planning & Administration (CDRA, Finance, and City Manager Depts.) $93,280 Estimated Funding $466,408 The City of South Fulton does not discriminate on the bases of disability in admission to, access to or the operations of its programs, services, or activities and the City owned facilities to provide reasonable accommodations for attendees of public meetings with disabilities.
