Notice of Public Comment Period Proposed Plan Dry Cleaner Site FTMP-13 & Water Tower Site FTMP-15 Fort McPherson, Fulton County, Georgia The Department of the Army invites the public to review and comment on the Proposed Plan for the Dry Cleaner Site FTMP-13 and the Water Tower Site FTMP-15, at Fort McPherson in Fulton County, Georgia. The Proposed Plan presents the U.S. Army's (Army) preferred alternative of Enhanced In-Situ Bioremediation to Designated Land Use, Monitored Natural Attenuation to Unrestricted Land Use, Groundwater Monitoring, and Institutional Controls at SiteFTMP13 and No Further Action at Site FTMP-15. This plan describes the investigation, assessment, cleanup activities and the risks to human health at Sites FTMP-13 and FTMP-15. The plan is issued by the Army as the lead agency for cleanup in cooperation with the Georgia Environmental Protection Division, as support agency, and in accordance with the public participation requirements of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA, 42 U.S.C. 9601 et seq. as amended) Section 117(a) and under Title 40 Code of Federal Regulations Section 300.430(f)(2) of the National Oil and Hazardous Substances Pollution Contingency Plan. Interested members of the public may review and comment on the Proposed Plan during a 30-day Public Comment Period, from August 12 to September 11, 2019. Comments must be post marked no later than midnight of the last day of the comment period to be considered. The Army will schedule a public meeting should the public express sufficient interest.
