PUBLIC NOTICE CITY OF DORAVILLE, GA NOTICE OF MUNICIPAL OFFICE VACANCY, QUALIFYING FEE AND QUALIFYING DATES 2026 Special Municipal Election

The 2026 Special Municipal Election for the office of Council Member will take place on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, to fill the unexpired position of District 2. Pursuant to Doraville Code of Ordinances Section 2.05 (b), If fewer than 12 months remain in the unexpired term of the vacated council seat, the mayor shall appoint a successor to serve for the remainder of such term subject to the approval of the majority of the remaining councilmembers. If more than 12 months remain in the unexpired term of the vacated council seat, the vacated seat shall be filled for the unexpired term at the next available special election date. Such special election shall be called and held in the manner prescribed by Chapter 2 of Title 21 of the O.C.G.A., the 'Georgia Election Code,' as it now exists or may hereafter be amended.

The positions up for election include filing the unexpired seat for: • Council Member District 2, Post 2 The qualifying fee for Council Members is $432, which is 3% of the total gross salary of the preceding year ($14,400) in accordance with O.C.G.A. 21-1-131(a)(1)(A).

Notice of Candidacy

Candidates must file a Notice of Candidacy in the office of the City Clerk of Doraville, located at 2421 Van Fleet Circle, Suite 200, Doraville, Georgia 30360. (O.C.G.A. 21-2-132(d)(4)). Qualifying will be open on the following days and times: • Monday, August 10, 2026 • Tuesday, August 11, 2026 • Wednesday, August 12, 2026 Filing hours on each of the above qualifying days will be from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm.

Candidate Qualifications

Each candidate must meet the qualifications set forth by the Charter and Code of the City of Doraville, as well as all applicable State laws.
