ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS AND NOTICE OF INTENT TO RECEIVE BIDS FROM PRE-QUALIFIED BIDDERS Sealed proposals will be received by Auburn City Schools at the Auburn City School District office, 855 East Samford Avenue, Auburn, AL 36830 until 2:00 PM CST on November 21, 2024, for: Auburn High School #2 - Early Site Package, Auburn, Alabama at which time the Base Bid and Alternates will be publicly opened and read. Project SCOPE is as follows: The project will develop approximately 82 acres of previously undeveloped land along North Donahue Drive in Auburn, AL to enable the construction of a new Auburn High School. The scope of work will include tree clearing, mass grading, mass rock excavation, and installation of storm drainage and sanitary sewer infrastructure to prepare the site for development of the new high school to be constructed at a later date. The project is bordered to the north and east by the 100-year flood plain of Saugahatchee Creek which will be modified and permitted through FEMA as a part of the site development. Due to the project's proximity to Saugahatchee Creek, control of on-site erosion and sediment discharge to the surrounding drainage basin will be a critical piece of the project. Construction of any permanent paving, landscaping beyond ground cover for erosion prevention, buildings, or other structural elements are not included in the scope of this project. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Auburn City Schools, in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the bid documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. Only general contractors and sub-contractors intending to bid a portion of the work under a general contractor who have been approved to bid pursuant to pre-qualification procedures and criteria established by the Owner will be eligible to bid the Project. The deadline for submission of pre-qualification documents is 5:00 PM CST, October 23, 2024. Drawings and specifications may be examined by pre-qualified bidders at the Auburn Reprographics & Supply, INC, 660 North Dean Road, Auburn, AL 36830, and may be obtained electronically from Auburn Reprographics www.auburnrepro.com, greg@auburnrepro.com or 334-501-8235 after October 25, 2024. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the Architect or copies thereof. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provisions of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the Architect; the bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying his or her current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted.
